Awesome. Maybe time for some other states to take a peek at other service contracts. Maybe Obama's new consumer financial agency can regulate them. I got screwed by the geek squad.

Well, well, well, Grumpy. You don't make this sound too gloomy. I like it. In the short term, I hope BB chokes a bit. Not that I want to see another one bite the dust, but, BB has been detrimental to the Independent Servicer. I am not a big fan of Geeks.

I would like see Japan make a decent come-back as well.

I disagree with the assumption that Bernacke is making. I believe everything the government has done recently, will prolong this a minimum of five years, and will highly likely take ten years till we start seeing growth. That is, if national debt is brought under control, and the current politics don't last over four years. I do believe service will continue to grow regardless, but it won't be warranty, IMO.

When sales price margins remain the only basis for selecting between brands, there will be little future in service networks or after the sale service. American, Japanese, and European manufacturers are throwing away 50 years of market goodwill just to price their TVs $5 below their competitors. Too bad service is worth so little.
We think we are worth the extra expense.

I believe for the first time in NESDA history, someone got the guts to tell it the way it is. According to source the RCA meeting was the most walked out meeting in the whole place! RCA/Dex/TCL/TTL/American Systems/On Force was in damage control explaining why they were going to allow the servicer to perform warranty work for a 10% cut on the repair including COD referrals. Also your technicians would be rated and could be suspended if they break their rules! Boy what a joke, computer tech telling TV techs how to repair things, wow! Maybe it is the END of the consumer repair business!

The problem is GREEN parts, these are sold as new, as most parts come in either white or brown card board boxes with no Manufacturer markings at all. speaking of Samsung, are they the new penalty company on warranty repairs/part returns?

Sony has been outsourcing product gfor years, the referrals have all but dried up on warranty repairs anyway. The sad issue is that after over 30 years they are shutting their Kansas City parts operation. down. They are moving the parts warehouse, but where? Mexico! The parts reps will work from home, good luck to them, but the accounting department was totally shut down and guess what, they moved it to san Diego. Were the jobs offered to the LOYAL KC employees, no, they offered it to people who were laid off in SD. As far as the servicer is concerned with the C people in charge, maybe we ought to think Thomson/RCA....
